Baby Dedication – Micah Lopez

A baby dedication is a ceremony where parents publicly commit to raising their child in a Godly way, and the congregation pledges to support the family. It is not a replacement for a personal decision to follow Christ but a spiritual commitment by the parents, offering a way for them to give thanks for their child and seek God's blessing. The ceremony often involves prayer for the child and family, with the church community making a supportive commitment.

Our church family gathered together to celebrate a very special moment in the life of Joshua and Natalie Lopez as they dedicated their son, Micah, to the Lord.

Baby dedications are a joyful time when parents publicly commit to raising their child in the ways of Jesus Christ, while the church promises to support, encourage, and pray for the family. Joshua and Natalie expressed their desire to lead Micah with faith, love, and wisdom, trusting in God’s guidance for his life.

As a congregation, we joined them in prayer, asking God to bless Micah with health, joy, and a heart that seeks after Him. We also affirmed our role as a church family—to walk alongside the Lopez family, offering encouragement and pointing Micah toward Christ as he grows.

We rejoice with Joshua, Natalie, and their loved ones in this beautiful step of faith, and we look forward with great expectation to all that God will do in and through Micah’s life. Here at Elim Mission Christian Church, we recognise the importance of this God-honoring celebration.

“And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.”
